The English Section of Kuching Buddhist Society organized a one-day awareness workshop entitled “Here & Now” for students on the 25 May 2012. This workshop aimed to introduce students to different strategies of focusing the mind in the here and now. Most of us, students in particular, live hectic and stressful lives. Buddhism has a lot to offer to the modern world as it has specific techniques to help us focus in the here and now. By being present, we are not burdened by remorse of the past or anxiety for the future. In this way, we are able to lead more peaceful and happier lives.

There were ten participants in this workshop. They learnt to be aware of small moments and actions like sitting, walking or eating a plate of fruits. The Stupa at the Buddhist Village proved to be ideal venuefor this small group to do their activities.
